Megan Gileza
White Sapphire Ring,
given to me by my grandmother in 2006
An ice shard,
a snowflake
immortalized
on my third left finger,
embraced
by four silver arms
holding it in place
and flanked
by two smaller slivers
of white
on a simple, circle
band. Rectangles
repeat inward
catching the sun,
reflecting
and refracting
its energy
like a clear
little
(but deep)
pond,
that is perfectly glassy,
unbroken
on the surface
but dancing
radiantly
beneath.
